“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
Isaiah 40:29
Thought
As a kid, I loved playing with the hand-held electronic football game. My friends and I would play the game all day and all not if possible. But at some point, the lights on the game would steadily grow dimmer and dimmer until they completely went out. Until we replaced the batteries, the game was no longer useful for us. It's easy to soar when things are going well, but how do we handle ourselves when things are not going so great? When it appears we have given all that we can and a loss is heading our way, Christ reminds us when storms rise, He's already given us the victory (John 16:33). Through water, rivers and fire, our God is able to keep us and bring us out alright (Isaiah 43:2).
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, thank you for sustaining me through every attack that has come my way. My scars declare that I may have been wounded, but not broken and destroyed! Please help me to encourage those (as I call out their names) that are thinking about giving up and give them the strength that they need to hold on. Continue to be everything that we need and more. Thank you for being the source of our strength. In Jesus Name, Amen.
