Thought
"Who are you trying to please?" Too often we try to please friends, family and others, when our focus should be on pleasing God. Without God, we wouldn't be able to do anything. He our everything and the very essence of our life (Acts 17:28). He's done so much for us, at the least we should aim to please Him instead of man.
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, I can do nothing without you. When I try to please man, I fail. When I try to please myself, the satisfaction is temporary. But when I focus on pleasing you, I always win. Help me make pleasing you the focus of my life. Nothing else will satisfy my hunger and thirst. I long for more of you. Nothing less will do! In Jesus Name, Amen.
