Prayer Focus: Prayer for Filling of the Spirit
Daily Prayer Line (7:00 – 7:15 a.m.) – 515.739.1030 x324-346-203
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” Ephesians 5:18
Also read: Galatians 5:16, 18
Thought
When someone is drunk, we describe them as being "under the influence." They are unstable, belligerent, not themselves and produce results that are damaging and possibly catastrophic. When a person is under the influence of the Spirit, they produce results that are beneficial to them and to those around them (Galatians 5:22-23). When we are filled with His Spirit, we reflect the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). What are you producing? Who's influence are you under? I don't know about you, but I want the Lord to fill me up until I overflow so I can walk right, talk right, and live right. I want to produce daily results by fulfilling the plans that He has for me (Jeremiah 29:11)!
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, fill me and transform me by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in me. Mold me, make me, and conform me into the image of Christ that I may be used as a vessel of honor for your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
