Dumfries, VA (PCC News) – On February 22, 2017, Lady Yolinda McCown recorded the 100th episode of #CoffeeBreak with Praise Center, a weekly small group Bible study that gives participants the opportunity to connect, share, and grow a closer relationship with God. What started off as an intimate, small group setting for women at the McCown's home has grown into a nationally followed podcast that includes women and men.
From "A Time of Refreshing" to "Broken Crayons Still Color," Lady Yo has empowered and encouraged believers to build a greater relationship with God. The latest series, "God is in the Laundry Room" challenges believers to take their walk to an even higher level.
We took some time to ask Lady Yo about #CoffeeBreak. Below is an excerpt from our interview.
PCC News: Did you expect #CoffeeBreak to be this well received?
Lady Yo: #CoffeeBreak was supposed to be small, but turned into something greater. It has touched many lives and I didn't think it would be this well received. I've received feedback from Bishops, Superintendents, Elders, Missionaries and others. I never would have expected this. This was not the initial plan. The purpose was to teach people how to live life to the fullest in Christ Jesus.
PCC News: What is some of the feedback you've received?
Lady Yo: Most of the comments are the same, "It has helped me think differently. I've enjoyed it thoroughly. I've watched you on television. I miss when you're not on."
PCC News: How has #CoffeeBreak enhanced your ministry?
Lady Yo: The plan was to help me study the Bible more. #CoffeeBreak has done just that.
PCC News: Is there anything that you would change about #CoffeeBreak:
Lady Yo: No. It has exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't change a thing. It has been very rewarding. God has allowed me to touch people just where they are at in their Christian walk.
PCC News: Where do you see #CoffeeBreak a year from now?
Lady Yo: I'm not sure, but I'm looking forward to the journey.
PCC News: What's the most unusual experience that has occurred during the 100 podcasts?
Lady Yo: During one of our outings to Starbucks, strangers joined in and paid attention during our session. It caught me off guard.
