Bible Study Lesson – April 8, 2020 ~ 7:30 pm
Lesson 3: God In Pursuit (Jonah 1:4-6)
Questions:
- Read Psalm 139:1-12. How does this psalm describe God’s knowledge of our actions and attitudes? Do you find that comforting or intimidating, and why?
- Do you see the storm as God’s punishment against Jonah or His way of getting the prophet back on the right track? How do you think Jonah understood it?
- Read Hebrews 12:5-11. How have you responded to God’s discipline?
Lesson 4: A Fool For A Prophet (Jonah 1:7-10)
Questions:
- Has Jonah shown any evidence of “fearing” God with his actions?
- How do your actions back up your beliefs? What can you do to ensure your life is consistent with your faith?
Preparation
Jonah attempts to get “away from the presence of the Lord.” How often have you tried to hide yourself, your life, or your situation from God? Remember that God knows ALL and sees ALL. Let’s strive to be more transparent and open with Him.
April 15, 2020 – Lesson 5: Reverent Sailors (Jonah 1:11-16) and Lesson 6: A Fish WIth An Appointment (Jonah 1:17)
