Lesson 12: Taking Refuge In God (Psalm 91)
Questions:
- The psalmist uses two names of God: the Most High and the Almighty. What do these names emphasize about the nature of God? How do these names highlight God’s ability to protect His people?
- The psalmist promises that no evil or plague will affect those that take refuge in Him. How should this be received in comparison to scriptures that promise the righteous will suffer?
- Verses 11-12 talks about God’s angels. How did Satan distort this passage when he tempted Jesus in Matthew 4:6-7?
- How does God’s promise to deliver and protect His people compare with the response the prophets of Baal received when calling upon their god in 1 Kings 18:26-29?
