Lesson 16: The Friend Who Asks (Luke 11:5-13)
Questions:
- What does Jesus’ teaching no prayer in Luke 11:1-4 have to do with the Parable of the Friend Who Asks?
- How does God respond to our prayers? What should characterize and determine how often we ask God for help (vs 8)?
- What does the parable teach us about how we should respond to other people’s needs (vs 5-8)?
- When we pray, what should we expect from God?
Preparation
Luke 11:9-10 is not meant to imply that God will always give us what we ask. Instead, God will always answer according to what is best for us (vs 11-13). In light of this, how should we pray? If we want to experience the kingdom of heaven here on earth, how should we respond to God when He answers?
