Questions:
- Was God’s presence everywhere, or was it restricted to certain places at chosen times? Where could the high priest go that regular priests cannot (6-7)?
- What did the high priest take with him into the Most Holy Place and why (7)? Why were the holy places closed to non-priests (8)? What does this restricted access are symbolize (9a)? What cannot be perfected by the old arrangements (9b-10)?
- Christ changed everything. What’s different now (11-13)? How was the new covenant established (12b)? What did it secure (12c)? What’s dead (13c)? Who’s alive (13c)?
Homework
Re-evaluate God’s covenant with you and your family. Has God kept his part of the agreement? Have you kept your part of the agreement? Perform an honest inventory and address anything that’s broken the covenant.
