Theme for Praise Center Church Of God In Christ
for the year of 2019 A. D.
Matthew 18:18
Verify I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
As we begin our fourth year of ministry, I’ve come to the conclusion that for things to change, we must change. Nothing will happen if you just sit idly by waiting for something to happen. God has blessed us tremendously over the years. We are making a difference on so many levels: 1) The #WeSERVE Praise Pantry and Food Distribution is growing; 2) We are in good standing locally, jurisdictionally and nationally; and 3) We are changing lives outside the four walls of our church through our media ministry. But it’s time for change. Too much is give, much is required. More souls need to be reached and led to Christ. More families need to be mended and reminded that God is a waymaker. More doors need to be opened to those lacking opportunities. And we still have the answer AND the keys. It’s not enough to say that we Empower Believers and Change Lives, but we must put that motto into action. It’s our time to move! For those that will take this journey with us in 2019, the theme will be:
The SHIFT
SHIFT has many definitions, but in regards to our theme, it is defined as: to make or go through a change; to assume responsibility; to change the place, position, or direction of.
As believers, we can NEVER become content with being stagnant. When you are stagnant, you are not growing. If you are not growing, then you are decaying. When you are decaying, you are ineffective and good for nothing. God has called us to be the Light of the world and the Salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14, 16). That requires action. That requires change. We cannot do this in our own power and might, but we can make The SHIFT by the Spirit of God working in and through us (Zechariah 4:5b). As joint-heirs with Jesus, we are promised the same results as Abraham, Moses and Joshua (Deuteronomy 11:24; Joshua 1:3). Because He’ll be with us, we are guaranteed the victory!
What needs to SHIFT?
- Our Minds (Romans 12:2; Philippians 2:5)
- Our Focus (Hebrews 12:2; Psalm 121:1-2; Exodus 14:13-15)
- Our Faith (Hebrews 11:1, 6)
- Our Hearts (Psalm 51:10; Ezekiel 36:26; Proverbs 4:23)
- Our Expectations (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
- and so much more.
I encourage you to join us in The SHIFT in 2019! We WILL Empower Believers. We WILL Change Lives. We WILL Cultivate Families. We can no longer sit idly by, but it’s time for action! I’m looking forward to the journey AND the results.
