“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
Psalm 103:1-5
Thought
With all that God does for us, it should be easy to bless Him for His goodness. Praise should not be superficial, but it should come from deep within our souls. Yes, He is worthy of praise because He is holy (Psalm 77:13). Yes, He is worthy of praise because He is majestic (Psalm 145:3). Yes, He is worthy of praise because He has been good (Psalm 100:5). He is also worthy because He has healed my body, redeemed me from my foolish ways, and satisfies me with desirable things. He's just that good (Psalm 37:8)!
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, your praises ring out from the depths of my soul! I can't forget the many doors that you've opened. I can't forget how good you've been. You've been better to me than I've been to myself. I can't help but thank you and to declare your praises throughout the land. Great and mighty, is our God! In Jesus Name, Amen.
