Prayer Focus: Walking In Freedom
Daily Prayer Line (7:00 – 7:15 a.m.) – 515.739.1030 x324-346-203
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” Romans 6:12-13
Thought
Who reigns supreme in your life? In yesterday's thought, Daniel chose God's ways over the ways of the king, even though it could've proven to be detrimental to him. Sin is like a cancer. It may start off small, but it will take up as much space as it can. We can't give our flesh an inch, but we must put it under subjection on a daily basis (Galatians 5:24). Our bodies belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), so we give ourselves to Him. Sin leads us to death, but God leads us to life (Romans 6:23).
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, please forgive me when I've flirted with sin. You paid a great price for me so that I would live and not die. Help me to see the long haul and remain fully committed to you, instead of being deceived by the temporary rewards that come with sin. Empower me with your Spirit so that I might live, and not die. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
