“Pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” Ephesians 6:18
Thought
Why does Paul urge the believer in our text this morning to pray in the Spirit? Because he knows that Spirit is what gives believers direct access to the heart of God. With this access, we can have confidence knowing that our prayers are not just being heard, but they will be answered (1 John 5:14-15). That blessing is not just for us, but should be used to intercede on behalf of others (Philippians 2:4). When we put others first, God puts our needs in the forefront! Pray for someone today!
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who intercedes, empowers, and makes possible this prayer. In everything I do, help me to be mindful of others so that I might be a blessing to others as you have graciously been a blessing to me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
