Thought
Paul had accomplished great things in his spiritual life before his conversion to Christianity. He was a pharisee of pharisees and known as a devout man. But none of those accomplishments could compare to intimately knowing Jesus Christ. Paul said in Acts 17:28, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being." We are nothing without Christ. Without Christ, we are still bound by the laws of the flesh, which condemned us to failure and death in hell. Christ took our place on the Cross so that we might be made the righteousness of God by him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Prayer
Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, thank you for rescuing me from my life of sin. Thank you for making me perfect in you. Allow me to shine your glorious light everyday so that others might come to know your grace more fully. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
